There’s so much open space in the Royal Gorge Region, it’s no surprise ATV and OHV riders love racing through the landscape.

Two of the most popular ATV and OHV areas are Seep Springs and Texas Creek. Both are BLM-managed, have ATV trails, are close to Cañon City, and are often rideable in the winter.

Seep Springs

Seep Springs is 15 miles northwest of Cañon City on County Road 69. High points along the 16 miles of roads and trails give visitors open ranchland views as they wind through pinon and juniper woodlands and ponderosa pine forests with sandstone rocks throughout.

Texas Creek

Texas Creek is halfway between Salida and Cañon City on Highway 50 and the Arkansas River. There are over 50 miles of trails and roads for riding, all of which can be covered in one day. Most of the trails circle around Table Mountain, which is easily visible from most places along the trail.
