Fired Up Summer Fun on Mondays at the Abbey Winery
Since Tim and Emmy Dennehey built their wood fired pizza oven, the demand for their Fire it Up Wood Fired Pizza has exploded. After two years of fine-tuning and perfecting their craft, they have partnered with The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey to station the mobile oven in the Abbey Winery park on Mondays throughout the summer from 11:30-5:30pm.
Fire it Up has an assortment of local and international toppings, including traditional and gourmet. Right now, Tim and Emmy are scouring through the forest for morel mushrooms, and they use the winery’s extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar on their pizzas. Specials have included morel mushroom with chicken, a chicken pesto pizza, pineapple, ham and jalapeños, as well as peach and basil with pepperoni. You can also choose to order a custom pizza from a variety of toppings. Each pizza is $10.00 and a side salad is available. Every Monday the specialty pizza has a featured pairing of Abbey wine at a discounted price, $1.00 off per glass. All the Abbey wines will be available by the glass on Mondays. Congregation members will receive even more of a discount on both pizza and wine.
