Explore a timeline of Florence’s history at the Florence Pioneer Museum. From the settlement of the Ute Indians to the discovery of oil fields, the museum’s exhibits cover every major event and personality that influenced modern-day Florence.

This three-story museum has exhibits like Lil’s Corner, which is dedicated to Florence’s most famous madam, the Quandary Corner, the Military Collection, and Oil’s Well that Ends Well. Additional items on display include a rock room, an old city jail, an outhouse, guns, saddles, dolls, Native American Memorabilia, and clothing. While perusing these items and exhibits, visitors can read exciting tales transcribed from early oil drillers, railroad workers, cowboys, and miners.

During the summer, the museum offers a walking tour of downtown Florence, an area with many historic buildings that have gone untouched since the town’s oil drilling glory days.
