Fremont County Fourth of July Celebrations
Celebrate the Fourth of July in the Royal Gorge Region, where events in Canon City, Penrose, Florence, and the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park bring the party to you! You don’t need to travel far for a good time and a chance to see Fremont County’s most beautiful parks decked out in red, white, and blue.
Canon City’s Annual Fourth annual 4th of July celebration includes live music, games, and food. Visitors are invited to spread out a blanket and relax for the day. In the evening, fireworks delight children and adults alike.
For a celebration of days gone by, head to Penrose for an Ol’ Fashioned Fourth of July celebration. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a history book, where lemonade and candy sticks reigned.
If you’re looking for a Fourth of July parade, Main Street Florence is the place to be. The city’s annual Wet/Dry Parade starts mid-morning and is followed by live music and vendors at Pioneer Park.
Go big at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, which gets decks out with colorful decorations and hosts special shows throughout the day at the Plaza Theater. Enjoy a July Fourth-inspired meal at Café 1230, with a deck that hangs 1,230 feet over the Royal Gorge. Get your thrills on a zipline or Skycoaster ride or take in the view from the tramway. Children will be entertained for hours at the Children’s Playland, complete with a classic carousel.
