Harvest Festival
On the last weekend of September, when the weather is warm and the leaves shine in hues of gold, the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey hosts its annual Harvest Festival. Often considered the quintessential outing during Colorado’s ideal time of year, this festival combines wine, artisans, food, and entertainment against Cañon City’s gorgeous autumn backdrop.
The festival kicks off on Friday with a winemakers’ dinner at the breathtaking Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, where attendees meet local winemakers, dine on gourmet food, and taste award-winning Abbey wine. Over the course of the weekend, the food selection includes local produce and cheeses, wood-fired pizza, fajitas, roasted chilies, and freshly baked bread.
Best of all, the Harvest Festival offers opportunities to taste limited-release wines, like Merlots and Rieslings, made specifically for the weekend. A wide range of musical entertainment is also provided.
You can never go wrong with fine foods, award-winning wines, live music, and the Harvest Festival at the Holy Cross Abbey Winery offers it all. Visit the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey to learn more.
